Abstract
This paper proposed the conversion of the focus by estimating the distance to the object from the two dimensional picture taken by a digital camera. Generally speaking, more than two cameras are used to get three dimensional information from the two dimensional images. However, there are some difficulties in this method such as the rigorous planning of the variables such as the distance between cameras.
It proposed how to estimate the distance information from the single camera by complementing such problems. It estimated the depth information of the space by reverse tracking the distance from the focus plane of the initial image taken by the single camera. From the process, the camera records the spatial information at the time of the picture taking but it is impossible in the cameras using the conventional optic lens. Therefore, in this article a lens with multiple irises instead of conventional lens was created and used for the purpose of the study. The image information taken by this lens provided depth information when being analyzed by the proposed computer process. However, there was a limit that it could not be used as a still photography.
